Spofforth Castle

Museo | Harrogate | Inglaterra | Reino Unido

Spofforth Castle is a fortified manor house owned by the Percy family it is situated in a grass area. Ideal for dog walkers and free to enter. Ruinous now but still interesting to explore. Parking is on road then a short walk across grass. Worth a visit

Mooie infoborden erbij. Je kan er ook heel fijn picknicken.

Lovely open space out front - great place for a picnic. Not much to the castle itself and not particularly accessible by wheelchair, but the fact that it’s free and well maintained makes it a pleasant enough spot and my two year old loved it! - parking is limited roadside although we caught it on a good day…

Interesting historical monument, well, very much an ancient ruin now, but scenic. You can park on the bays as you approach it after turning off the main road

Disappointing. Advertised as a castle but is actually a small manor house. No wonder it's free to enter. Over and done with in 2-3 minutes. Not worth the fuel to drive there.

English heritage maintained castle. Interesting, but it needs more information boards. Free to enter. Parking is just on the street, room for about 6 cars. Once you have seen it, you probably don't need to go back.
